Once again I’m wearing the new Atomic ripped skinny jeans. Do I take them off? Hardly. They really are the perfect jeans on sl. Oh and this scarf? It’s pretty awesome isn’t it? It and the shirt are part of Tres Blah’s stumblebum item for the week. Pick it up while you can! I know I could always do with a few more scarves on sl. I can’t wait for fall and winter again. Scarf season is always my favorite.

As school gets closer, I find myself channeling my inner “geek.” Let’s face it, the look really isn’t geeky, but it’s kind of reminiscent of my rebellious high school days. And by rebellious I mean I didn’t study for my tests or write my papers until the night before they were due. I was a bad one, indeed. And when I say was, I pretty much mean am. I’m almost the same person I was a few years back except I pay for my own clothes now. So, I scratch the prior statement up there–this look is reminiscent of my rebellious college days.

I have been dying to go to the beach. Unless you count living in the East Bay of the San Francisco Bay area for over two years (and it can’t really be counted since I didn’t spend any time on the coast), I haven’t been to an actual beach in five years. This is horrible. What have I been doing with my free days in the summer? Oh, I know….sleeping to avoid getting heat sickness. That’s right. This is why sl is fantastic. I can pretend I’m going to a beach. No, it’s not the same thing, but my avatar can’t get skin cancer, so it works.

Boom has some of the cutest bikinis on sl out at the moment. Hopefully, you’ve seen them before now. They’re mix and match–there’s two styles of tops, four styles of bottoms. And they come in plenty of colors and patterns. Plus, they’re only 75L a piece. Who can resist that? As far the tube top from Boom, that was a stumblebum item, however there’s some similar solid ones available that do the trick.

I told myself I’d never buy this shirt from Mr. Poet. Not because it’s a men’s shirt. I don’t mind editing prims to hell and back–oh and I did, I did. But because every scene/emo boy on sl has this shirt and then some. When I first saw it, I thought it was great. I still think it’s great, actually; I wouldn’t have bought it if I didn’t. But then I saw it again and again, and each time it was worn the same way. Boys, please be a bit more creative? Hopefully, I’ve managed to pull off something different with it.

Oh and new tattoo from Aitui called Number 1 Dime. I just cracked and downloaded the Emerald Beta. Love the 2.0 features, but wasn’t willing to put up with a standard viewer or a bugged out version. However, I really haven’t had any problems with the beta and it’s SO much faster. SO much. Wait what was I saying? Oh right, the tattoo. I just love the placement of it. It’s not very look at me–well unless you’re looking at me from behind. Number 1 Dime is a song, right? Just kidding…sorta.

Yes, I’m out of the plastik skin I’ve been wearing–for now. I know I’ll slip back into it. It’s calling me as we speak. But, I do like this skin I got from L.Fauna. I never fell into the craze when these skins first came out. They were beautiful, but too soft compared to the curio skins I’ve always worn and adored. However, I bought one the other week and liked it so much that when L.Fauna had her anniversary sale last week, I had to go back and get another. One thing I love about these skins…the lipstick is tintable. Talk about versatility, right?

So the outfit is a bit…what’s the word? Oh, black. Yeah. I’m morose morbid this week. With everything I’m going through in rl lately, I’m starting to get the feeling that death is peaking around every corner just waiting for the inevitable. Is it better to have love and lost than to never have loved at all–and then just die? Good question. I’ll have to ponder. For some reason the wry smile on my avi just makes this all so much more amusing.

I added shadows to my picture this time. Isn’t that exciting? I think so! When I feel like crap, little things like this make me happy. Little things like shadows and correct grammar and certain shades of pink and hair–like this hair…which is on sale. Sales make me happy, too. This hair is on sale at Posh. Actually the entire second floor of hair is on sale. I think it was 150L or 175L for the fat pack! Can you believe it? She also made over I’m a Hipster and has that for sale on the second floor. Which if you haven’t seen, you should head over and check it out. It’s awesome.

There’s also a sale at fri.day right now, which is where I’m headed. And then to the Black & Blue fair which is an informative fashion fair aimed at promoting awareness for mental illnesses. After completing a semester in psych and reflecting a lot on my own personal problems, I happen to think everyone should be more educated and open-minded about the battles people with mental health problems struggle with and are constantly aiming to overcome. Anyways, I’ll put a halt to the pseudo-lecturing and post the specs…

One final down…well, I only had to take one of my finals this semester. It pays to work your ass off and get the highest grade in the class–take it from me, kids! Wow…condescending much? Feel free to slap me at any time. But the past few days, I have been in study mode. Hence, this baby. This jacket will pretty much always bring out the nerd in me, no matter how I dress it up or down. The only thing is…I don’t really like the collar. Sue me. Throw on a scarf instead (this one free at Mr. Poet), and voila.

Of course, I pulled out some glasses. If you’re a self-proclaimed nerd you have to have glasses, right? College glasses from Fishy Strawberry–not only is the name perfect, they look pretty perfect too.

I just wrapped up a 36 hour work weekend–three 12 hour days–wrapping up a week in which I broke up with my sl partner after 6 months. Oh and guess who came knocking this morning? Not the ex. Needless to say, I’d like to kick the shit out of something right about now. Instead, I shopped and just dressed like someone who just got finished kicking the shit out of something.

Did you know that Action has new, well new-ish, clothes? I didn’t. Despite their participation in things like Super Bargain Saturday and Project Themeory, I never really made it into the store to look around. Finally, I got around to it, and I must say, I’m broke. Thanks Action! No, but seriously, if you haven’t, go there. Go there now. I command thee! The top I’m wearing? Action. If that isn’t reason enough, I don’t know what is.

The Living Doll

Showing off another one of my grabs from 50L Friday last weekend.  This dress from katat0nik is amazing.  It’s playful, gothic, and just plain fun to wear.  The second I put it on I was reminded of a marionette.  So I headed over to xstreet to see if I could find something.  I honestly used to hate xstreet, but lately I’ve been too lazy to run about in world and shifting through feeds for a marionette didn’t seem too promising.  I was doubtful I could even find one, but this one’s great.  The only thing I don’t like is that it’s scripted to rezz and not to be worn–not much use if I had wanted to walk around with it on.  It’s minimum height is also 2m…making it a bit difficult to take pictures.  I think they turned out alright, though.
